Bittorrent D/L rate?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Community Anime Reviews : One Thread

I was wondering if you guys have incredibly slow Bittorrent D/L rates too. My rates are 2 KiB/S to 8 KiB/S with my cable capable of 750 KiB/S. Is this because of the required uploads? Not complaining just curious. (If you guys get much faster rates, then im complaining. lol)

I have 1mb line and i get full speed most of the time. but some torrent have only a few people so it'll be slow. Way of life can't be helped.

BTW if your leeaching you WILL get slow speed as most client will ban you from connecting to them, If you download 10mb from some one and only upload a few kb to them then it's only fair that they ban you from connecting to them.

How fast BT is depends on not only what isp you use, but also how fast other people's isp are.

200 hours? are you on 56k? if not then you have a blocked connection Or your hard disk is clapped out and is not letting bittorrent thru the firewall. I'ts happening to me so i've closed zonealarm and it's working fine with just XP's firewall running.

Go here to check your bittorrent connection

http://btfaq.com/natcheck.pl ------------------------------------------------- Leeching is when you download the whole 700mb file and only upload 50mb back into the swarm, to not be a leech you must upload what you downloaded. Peers are other people who's downloading, the more people (peers) you have on the torrent the better the speed you'll get.
