Status of RR Museum in N. Florida

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

Some years ago, a railroad museum project was started in the N. Florida area, north of Jacksonville. I heard that the museum was located in the vicinity of the Hilliard community.

My question is: Does anyone know what happened to the museum, and more importantly, to the large amount of antique and vintage railroad equipment that the museum was able to acquire?

Thanks for your help!

Hi out there. The North Florida Railroad Museum is alive and well. We still have equipment in our ownership but not as much we did. We were complelled to sell off some of the cars and other stuff in order to stay solvent. CSX required that we vacate their RR but they would only move that equipment that had roller bearings. We have relocated to the industrial park at Green Cove Springs. We have 6 peices of equipment remaining. Please feel free to contact me if you need any additional information.

Joe, do you remember what their collection of rolling stock contained? Anything interesting?
