On October 14, we members of the Catholic Church family honor, in a special way, the following friends of God -- "saints" and "blesseds" whose souls are now in heaven:

Pope St. Callistus I of Rome (Italian, freed slave, 16th pope, reigned from c. 218 until martyrdom c. 223)

St. Angadrisma of Oroër-des-Vierges (French, Benedictine abbess, c. 698)
St. Bernard of Arce (French or British, hermit in Italy, 9th century)
St. Burchard of Würzburg (British, Benedictine missionary priest in Germany, bishop, c. 754)
Sts. Carponius, Evaristus, Priscian, and Fortunata, of Caesarea (Palestinian, three brothers and a sister, martyred in 303)
St. Dominic Lauricatus of Umbria [Domenico] (Italian, hermit, Benedictine priest, died at about age 65 in 1060)
St. Donatian of Rome (Italian, bishop of Rheims in France for 30 years, d. 390)
St. Fortunatus of Todi (Italian, bishop, d. 537)
St. Gaudentius of Ephesus (from Asia Minor [now called Turkey], bishop of Rimini in Italy, martyred by Arians c. 360)
St. Justus of Viviers (French, bishop of Lyons, died in Egypt c. 390)
St. Manacca (Irish?, abbess, 5th or 6th century)
St. Manakus of Holyhead (Welsh, abbot, 6th century)
St. Manechildis of Champagne (French, virgin, c. 490)
St. Rusticus of Trier (German, bishop, hermit, d. 574)
Sts. Saturninus and Lupus of Cappadocia (from Asia Minor, early martyrs)
Bl. Stanislaus Mysakowski of Wojslawice [Stanislaw] (Polish, diocesan priest, martyred by Nazis at Hartheim [Austria] at age 46 in 1942 [beatified 1999])
