Teen Titans is definitely NOT anime

-- Stormblazer (stormblazer@digis.net), October 25, 2004.

No it most certainly is NOT.

I am STRONGLY opposedd to these Anime parodying pieces of bullshit, and since this is an ANIME site I would prefer to keep it JUST THAT. So with all due respect find somewhere else to ask, because this crap does NOT belong here.

This post will be deleted in 24 hours (well, actually more like 12:30 pm tomorrow).

If you have MSN or AIM I could just send you the episodes I've downloaded! ^_^

Beg pardon, but Teen Titans is anime. Anime, as defined by dictionary.com. is "A style of animation developed in Japan, characterized by stylized colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sex." Though not all anime has sex or futuristic settings, most are colorful and contain some kind of violence. Not to say that everything colorful and violent is anime, because Spongebob SquarePants is NOT anime. The key term here being "Japan". Teen Titans was developed in Japan, and is colorful and violent. Therefore Teen Titans is Anime. Just because you don't like a certain show doesn't mean you can deny its origins.\

And to the actual question at hand.... No. Sorry! ^^

Ever look at the credits? IT'S NOT FULL OF JAPANESE NAMES. TEEN TITANS WAS NOT CREATED IN JAPAN-IT IS AN AMERICAN CARTOON THAT MIMICS THE POPULAR STYLE OF ANIME TO DRAW IN AN AUDIENCE AND SINCE I AM MODERATOR HERE I AM SAYING THAT SHOWS LIKE TEEN TITANS, TOTALLY SPIES, AND ALL THE REST DO NOT BELONG HERE. Please find somewhere else to discuss these series. I know I didn't delete it yet but I forgot we had a field trip to Salem today and I didn't have time to access my page in the school library. By tomorrow this will be deleted. Got it?

"A style of animation developed in Japan, characterized by stylized colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sex." - WTF that probably came from an AMERICAN DEFINITION. Hikaru No Go is an anime and has NO VIOLENCE what-so-ever it's abt a friggin boardgame!!! get it thru your skull Anime is NOT MADE BY AMERICANS.

-- Pearson (none@aol.com), October 26, 2004.

it's True Anime is A style of animation developed in Japan <-def of anime it's False to say Teen titans is this sytle of animation Last its false to say it Anime is not made by Americans, only because there are americians and other nationalites who learned this style and help on anime projects <----If you ever visit japan you will under this better.

-- Kira (none@none.com), October 26, 2004.

no offence guyz , but does it really matter if it is anime or not? at least it is a good show! anime or not!

-- molly (bunnielicious@msn.com), October 29, 2004.

The point is it's not Anime and no this IS an Anime website. If you like it (I honestly don't know WHY you would) then discuss it somewhere else that's not a site pertaining to Anime. Take South Park for instance. Even though it's my favorite show EVER it's NOT Anime so I'm not discussing it here, because this site pertains to Japanese animation (And no not even the episode "Good Times with Weapons"...). The fact that I despise these Anime mockeries is just a plus, but the main point is if it ain't Anime it pretty much doesn't belong here, so yeah...

-- Suupaa Gohan 2 (dragonballz@aol.com), October 30, 2004.

hey i was lookin up at the site below ... n here is an extract from it ... For good or bad (which really depends on how much you like anime) the new Teen Titans cartoon is an anime series made for the US market. All the trappings of Japanese cartoons are there. Characters’ eyes change radically to indicate various emotional states. Overly cartoonish caricatures appear on the screen to enact the inner thoughts of the characters. Even the personalities are very anime.

Um... So I was searching google for sites that had the new Teen Titans episodes because noone has put them up on Suprnova, when I discovered this page. Now, I love anime. My personal favorites are Big O, Full Metal Alchemist, Scrapped Princess, and the .Hack series. I personally would say this: Anime generally is stuff from japan, so in that sense of the defintion, Teen Titans is not an anime, but let's get serious here. Who the hell cares? The poor kid from the original message just wanted to know where to find the episodes. Who gives a rats ass whether Teen Titans is an anime or not. And yes, I understand that this is just an anime site, but I mean, are you all so full of yourselves that you can't just spend five minutes to type a message telling the kid where you think he might find some episodes? It's not like he is asking you to fight all the demons of hell or something really crazy like that. He just simply wanted some suggestions on places to get the show from. Notice how he didn't ask "I was wondering if we could sit here and yell and scream about whether Teen Titans is an anime". Hopefully you are all getting the picture that I think you are all a bunch of selfish, moronic, full of shit sons a bitches. Now, if the kid even bothers to look at this anymore after being treated like that by ya'll, I will list the places I know of that he can find the episodes:

Kazaalite (A P2P downloading program) Bittorrent sites (Suprnova is the only one I found them at so far) *for bittorrent you need to download some programs and such, so if you are interested in that, send me an email and I will tell you what I use and help you with that.

I hope this helps, and as for the rest of you, grow the fuck up.

Jason...You're right. We were being asses, and I apologize on my part.

But I would also like to state that in my first post I was very nice in saying my position on the series. however after that when everyone else started ranting I went along with it, so yeah...

Breezy, sorry. Try those links, but otherwise I obviously don't know where to get them. BUT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE please ask on a site not designed for discussion of Anime.

How was that?

-- Suupaa Gohan 2 (dragonballz@aol.com), November 02, 2004.

lol. Much nicer. Sorry for comin off strong there.

Jason

I recommend everyone go download Full Metal Alchemist! Fantastic anime!

-- Jason (simpletruth@comcast.net), November 02, 2004.

So....from what you are saying, Code Lyoko is not anime either, right? It's full'o French names. Nowhere is there a requirement for anime to be made in japan by Japanese animators.

-- Neptune (back2you@hotmail.com), November 03, 2004.

Well, I have quite alot episodes of it. You can download them with WinMX (that's also a filesharing program). That's where I got mine from.

hope that helps^^

and to all the others: I can only support what Jason said before! And like someone said before (sorry forgot your name ^^;) The Show is made in Japan for the US. So in a way it's like "The last Unicorn" - a co-production like of. And most people I know are so for counting "The last Unicorn" for an anime!

-- Kikkyô (Ciry@gmx.de), November 08, 2004.

hey everyone, I am sorry to prolongue this even further since it is already apparent that you don't like teen titans discussions on anime forums, but I have a request. I have every Teen Titans episode up to Episode 8 of season 3. I can not find 8, 9, or 10. I have tryed kazaa, bittorrent, and win mx but still no luck. can anyone direct me to where i can find a torrent for any of those. thanks!

Jason

As most American shows are, Teen Titans story is developed here in America. However, the animation is done in Korea due to their exceptional skill and also due to the fact that getting American animators costs a considerable amount more.

I've been dying to find a way to download the Teen Titans episodes featuring Terra ("Terra", "Titan Rising," "Betrayal," "Aftershock part 1," "Aftershock part 2")... Somehow, those particular episodes always seem to come up when I have to leave for class...

Anyway, I'm a total dope and I have no idea how to use these file sharing programs... OH well.

And not that I wanna be a butt about things, but Teen Titans is considered an "Amerime," meaning that it's an American Cartoon INSPIRED and infused by the the style of Japanese animation (along with Megas XLR and Totally Spies). So, in a sense, everyone is right. Well, except for those of you who are wrong of course. :P

I had to write a research paper on this, so I have at least a slight idea of what I'm talking about.

And I wouldn't necessarily go so far as to say that where it is actually produced determines what kind of animation it is. Afterall, The Simpsons is produced in Korea, but it's definitely not considered a Korean Cartoon. Also, everyone knows that there are TONS of people in the US who draw with an anime style (including me), but just because it isn't done in Japan, doesn't mean it's not anime. But that's just my opinion.

Darn. I'd just go and buy the dvd sets if I had the money, but alas, being a college student with no job...yeah...
