On October 31, we members of the Catholic Church family honor, in a special way, the following friends of God -- "saints" and "blesseds" whose souls are now in heaven:

St. Bega of Cumberland (Irish or Anglo-Saxon, virgin, d. 681)
Bl. Christopher of Romagnola [Cristoforo] (Italian, parish priest then Franciscan friar, died at about age 100 in 1272 [beatified 1905])
St. Erth of Cornwall (Irish, bishop, c. 512)
St. Foillan of Fosses (Irish, Benedictine abbot in Belgium, c. 655)

St. Notburga of Cologne (German, Benedictine nun, c. 714)
St. Quentin of Amiens (Roman, missionary, tortured and martyred by beheading in France in 287)
St. Stachys of Byzantium (from Asia Minor [now called Turkey], bishop, mentioned in Romans 16, 1st century)
Bl. Thomas Bellaci of Florence (Italian, Franciscan brother, novice-master, preached in Syria and Ethiopia, died at about age 77 in 1447 [beatified 1771])
St. Wolfgang of Ratisbon (Austrian, Benedictine monk, schoolteacher, bishop of Regensburg, died at about age 70 in 994 [canonized 1052])

If you have anything to share about these holy people, please reply now -- biographical episodes, prayers through their intercession, the fact that one is your patron -- whatever moves you. If you are interested in one of these saints or blesseds and want to find out more about him/her, please ask. Additional information is sometimes available on the Internet.

All you holy men and women, saints of God, pray for us.
God bless you.
John
