Sikhism is a religion derived from Hinduism, but differing from it in several respects. You can find out about the religion (as understood by themselves) here:

I live a few blocks from the largest sikh temple in the country.Unfortunately someone torched the place and they are rebuilding. They are peaceful people, much unlike Muslims. They seem to be loyal Americans. I have never had any problem with them.
