I came to this country when I was 9 yrs old I got aressted when I was 19yrs old for stealing a radio out of a car for which I recieved a misdemenor and 2 yrs probation and fines. But then I was with a friend who stole some stuff and I was the "look out" and they charged us with a class 3 felony but I will probably get some type of probation I have not been convicted yet (2005 March). I will probably plea bargain but the lawyer said they wont drop the felony to misdemenor like on my previous offence. Also I am a permenant resident I have a green card. I applied for citizenship but was denied because of the first offence they said I had to wait 5 yrs but 5 yrs later I got this offence that I am facing.

1.My question is what is the probablity I would get put in Deportation proceedings?

2.Will they still grant me citizenship and when because my greencard expires in two yrs??

3.Will they renew my green card after the two yrs??

Please help I made two bad choices in the 17 yrs I have been here and this country is all I know. Any Advice is greatly appriciated.

No, not with a new conviction.

3.Will they renew my green card after the two yrs??

They will more likely start deportatation proceeedings against you.

You absolutely should see an immigration lawyer in your state who specializes in criminal and removal questions before you plead out. There may be a way to structure a plea that would avoid these drastic consequences. However, once you plead out, it is almost impossible to undo the plea.

I just wanted to add that since I had a previous conviction of a misdermenor on (9-18-1999) they asked me to file 5 yrs later and I did and after I took my finger prints at the finger print office to become a citizen on (4-12-04) I recieved a letter for the verbal test and I went to the immigration test two days after I got arrested and bonded out on (9-22-04). Now my question is that since I havent been convicted yet did they find out about the arrest on (9-22-04) and can they still put me in deportation proceedings?
