Roman Catholic marrying Greek Orthodox

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

I am Roman Catholic and want to marry a Greek Orthodox man. We want a Roman Catholic wedding mass and all the children will be raised Roman Catholic. He supports their upbringing and my faith.

What needs to be done or what requirements are there to get married in the Roman Catholic church to a Greek Orthodox?

Hi Felicia, I am glad he supports you! I don't know all the details, but I think if you talk with your priest, he could help you. Also, you might wish to consider raising them in the Byzantine rite, on of the Eastern rites of the Catholic Church. While you would still be fully Catholic and believe all of the same doctrines, some of the disciplines resemble that of the Greek Orthodox Church. Just a thought.

God bless,
