Wow. That actualy sounded almost...rational. It's a different perspective, to say the least. Makes you see the war as the Iraqis see it...first Saddam fucked them over...and then the United States helped Saddam fuck them over...and then the United States fucked them over on it's own with ten years of sanctions...and then the United States fucked them over by invading them...and finaly they've had enough. The question, though, is are they really as rational as they present themselves to be in this video? I mean, aren't these the same people that beheaded a contractor on camera? So I really don't know what to think. But honestly, at the end of the day, I would have to say that if I were an Iraqi, and the United States was dropping bombs on MY village, and melting MY kids with napalm, I'd probably be firing off the occasional RPG round as well. Now, would I kidnap and brutaly murder civilians? No. Would I use a place of woeship as a weapons depot and a bargaining chip? No.

Bottom line: the Iraqi people don't want us there. We need to get the fuck out. The occupation is wrong, and I hate to say it, but the Iraqis have a right to want us to get out. But our soldiers don't deserve to get killed because our jackass of a president is keeping them there.

Is there actually a legal system for the removal of a president in america? Here in the UK i believe there are systems in place which allow the impeachment and removal of the prime minister.

-- ho hum (monkeysee@monkeydo.com), December 19, 2004.

Yes, if the President fucks up REALLY bad, like Nixon did, then both the House and the Senate can vote to impeach him, but they need a two-thirds majority...it's prety hard to do, and no President has ever actualy been impeached. Andrew Johnson was almost impeached but was saved by one vote. Nixon was almost certainly going to be impeached so he resigned. They tried to impeach Clinton but didn't. Now we've got a Republican-controlled Senate and House, and an environment where anybody who dares to criticize the President is a traitor or a terrorist, so I really doubt it's gonna happen, unless he fucks up REALLY bad (like, worse than he has so far).

Would you want a bigger crook as president? If they could impeach both of them I would say great. If cheney took over nothing would change. Let's just hope in the next 2 weeks that kerry can win ohio or washington state. pray and pray hard. If God wants bush then I think the acopylapse is right around the corner.

Kerry lost. It's over. Bush is still President. Not that Kerry would really have changed anything. We're still in this fucking quagmire called Iraq. People on both sides are still dying needlessly. It's time to get the fuck out.

Wrong, once again, Anti-Bush.

CLINTON WAS IMPEACHED by the House, but the Sentate voted to Censure him rather than remove him from office.

The articles of impeachment were that he knowingly lied under oath and mislead a grand jury investigation - both of which everyone admits he did.

Iraqis don't want us out - we're the only thing keeping their country on the map and they know it. If we pulled out today there would be civil war by nightfall.

Secondly about us screwing them... ahem...it wasn't a unilateral US embargo or a unilateral US food for oil program. Both were signed and sealed by the UNITED NATIONS.

It wasn't the Bush administration that raped and pillaged and burnt down Kurdish villages in the north and shiite villages in the south. It wasn't the Bush administration that let Saddam skim off 22 billion dollars worth of money the UN said he ought to use for health and infrastructure and food instead of palaces and weaponry... all that happened under Clinton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh but Clinton was cool - even though the House impeached him whereas Bush is stoopid (even though his grades were better than Clinton, Gore and Kerry and unlike them all, he got an MBA from Harvard).

My bad on the impeachment thing...I meant to say he was not removed from office...its easy to get those two confused.

Clinton did a lot of bad things. Monica is not at the top of my list of Clinton's sins and misdeeds. Like continuing enforcing the sanctions on Iraq, which didn't really hurt anybody but the Iraqi people...or bombing Iraq, which posed no threat to us...or the debacle that was our military intervention in the Balkans...or sending foreign aid to human rights violators in Morocco, Haiti, Columbia, Saudi Arabia...take you pick. Not to mention letting a bunch of jobs go overseas...yes, Clinton did all these things. I've never said I liked Clinton. I think he was a shitty President. You seem to base a lot of your arguments on attacking Clinton, but I totaly agree with you on most of that. You are the partisan hack here, not me. If he's Republican, he must be good, but if he's a Democrat, he must be the spawn of Satan himself, right? You need to understand that both parties are completely and totaly full of shit. The names and faces change, but the same problems are still there.

By the way, did you watch the video?

-- Anti-Bush (comrade_bleh@hotmail.com), December 21, 2004.

Yes, Clinton did lie about monica but it did not merit impeachment. I am way more upset that they spent around 60 million dollars for 5 years trying to find any criminal activity on any citizen let alone the president. If that is all they got on him then he is more clean than your average politician. The pardons do disturb me. He took a huge deficit and turned it into a huge surplus after the republicans shoved his noble pursuit of medical care for every american. He wanted Jr. college as a right. public school. He was responsible and was trying to help the younger folks keep America afloat for decades. He upped earned income credit as an incentive for the would be welfare exploiters and he believed that anybody working 40 hours should not be in poverty-who can argue with that? While he was president there was a good economy and as a result the crime rate dropped dramatically. I think murder went down in half. I think NYC used to have 2,000 murders a year and I think that dropped down to around 900.Clinton did alot of good and he was intelligent. If I had my neice over for dinner I would want bush sr. to have dinner with us. Would not trust clinton and I would not want to be bored by our current simpleton president. I like bush sr. as a family person.

The video seemed reasonable. I don't see a rabid person making those statements.I just wish the resistance would stop because we will not lose this war

I have a feeling this will turn out like Vietnam. We have a country that quite frankly wants us to stay the hell out, and they are conducting a brutal and, unfortunately, highly successful guerrilla war against us. Soldiers are getting killed by the dozens. I believe that before we see 2,000 American deaths the American people will wake up and realize that Iraq is not worth our soldiers' lives, and we will pull out. At least I hope so.
