Larry : As information, the express wagons at the ACL depot in Wilson, N.C. during the 30's were painted green with red wheels, plus an enameled diamond shaped "Railway Express" logo about 12 inches high affixed to the wooden stakes on the front, or pulling, end of the wagon. There were a couple of express wagons in this same livery at the Norfolk Southern depot in Washington, N.C. If memory serves me, "Railway Express Agency" was stenciled in white paint along each side of the cart.

Max, it's not clear from your question exactly what information you want. Did you mean things like when the wagon was built, what it was used for, etc.? Regarding the number, I think some wagons were numbered by their owning RRs but am not sure how consistent that practice was. Do you know which RR owned this wagon? Usually the RR name was stenciled somewhere on the sides or ends of baggage wagons, but it may have worn off yours.
