Atlas or Peco turnouts for dcc

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

I have researched your site, but I don't see an answer for this question. I have acquired several Atlas streamline and Peco Insulfrog turnouts in the last year in preparation of starting my layout; I am now at that point and I am trying to decide which brand to use that will give me the least amount of trouble in maintenance and running trains. I will be using manual throws or Tortoise switch machines and obviously using DCC (Digitrax). Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. Steve

Steve,

I don't know that anyone has run a comparison test. I think both turnouts are generally well thought of.

There is a problem that some modelers are experiencing with the Insulfrog. Dale Gloer describes an easy fix on my website: http://www.wiringfordcc.com/switches_peco.htm#a6
