how can i write query to access the remort sql server using the dial up connection.how can i access the server using the ip address?

Sanoop,In enterprise manager, when creating an "New SQL Server Registration..." you just enter the IP address in the box for the Server name and fill out the rest of the form like normal.
I suppose it is possible to do this on a dial up connection, but it is slow even on a cable modem connection using SQL Server 2000 with the latest service pack, so I can't imaging how slow it will be on a dial up line, especially if you are not running the latest SQL Server.
