I am having trouble (this is my first time using a Polaroid) with the separating the image from the plastic top. they never separate completely, so I cannot make the transfer. Whst is the best way to toto separate the image and make the transferto my paper?

You can use an Xacto knife. it works really well, and small enough to cut details. It's even thin enough to get underneath the layer of plastic once you want to lift it off. Don't press too hard though because it can cut through the whole photo, which is always a bummer.
