Ok, i was wondering if it is ok for a Catholic to set up a divorced protestant? Would it be wrong even if they dont submit to the authority of a Tribune Council in the Catholic Church?

is it possible for you to rephrase your question? what is a "set up?" cuz in my world, setting someone up is a bad thing. i guess the meaning of "set up" here is something that i've never heard before.

I mean is it ok to introduce a divorced protestant friend to another person, hoping that they can make a love connection?

So basically, my intent is to hook up a friend of mine and i'm wondering if this intent along with my action is sinful when the friend is divorced and protestant since I wouldnt dare do this with a divorced Catholic as the marriage would still be considered valid.

Please don't do it. It would be just as wrong for you to do it to a non-Catholic (even a non-Christian) as it would for you to do it to a Catholic.

The Catholic Church recognizes, as presumptively valid, the marriages of non-Catholics (including non-Christians). Therefore, a divorce of two non-Catholics no more ends their marriage than does a divorce of two Catholics. In each case, a divorce is just a formal separation, since only death ends a valid marriage.
