can a confirmation student use the name of a blessed as their confirmation name?

Hey, at my parish there are a few students using names of Blesseds as their confirmation name. The pastor says its ok as long as he is asked for permission. Is this ok or does it have to be a saint name?

I'ts Ok! A "CHRISTIAN" name is the matter of that post, not neccesarily a saint name or a name of a Blessed, but a "CHRISTIAN" name.

God Bless U all!

Dear “A Friend” can you give us an example of a “Christian” name which is NOT the name of a “Blessed”, a Saint, or a diminutive thereof, or a name honouring some aspect of God or of Our Lady? I believe all of these are acceptable as confirmation names.

Sure! PRESENTATION, VISITATION, ASUMPTION, PURIFICATION, PROTOMARTYRS, CHARITY, ETC...

THERE ARE MORE. BUT, WHAT I MEAN IS, A NAME NO CONTRARY TO THE CHRISTIAN SENSE.
