NHL/Paragon

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

Hi

Can anyone tell me if NHL or Paragon are members of the CML and if so how long they have been members??

If you have had dealings with them do you mind telling me about it?? I'm just looking for info that might help in regard to someone else who has a problem with them or any of their agents.

Thanks a lot

MOira

NHL/Paragon have been a member of CML for many years but they are more persistent in pursuit of defaults than any other mortgage lender. They often use JDL to find debtors.

Now that the FSA is in force they have changed a strategy and if you ask for everything they have on record then they send not only data held on computer but also photocopies of everything they have. They can go back to the origin of NHL in the mid 1980's. JDL hold nothing but will supply the address of their client.

Paragon Finance plc NHL Salvage Team St Catherine's Court ??? Solihull B?? ???

It is not clear to me that the FSA has retrospective power of action in shortfall cases (not clear on their website). So look up the home- repossession site and follow the advice there especially over detailed SARN information. Since they (NHL) seem to be prepared to give you all information instead of waiting for the court to force disclosure then it puts you in a better position to make an informed descision about how your friend might stand if it went all the way to court.

I found this useful page on the Council of Mortgage Lenders Website http://www.cml.org.uk/servlet/dycon/zt- cml/cml/live/en/cml/about_member_directory

The main page is www.cml.org.uk There are quite a number of useful publications available on this site.
