I found animenfo.com to be very helpful in finding out information and stuff. If you want a link for music anime, try this: http://www.animenfo.com/animebygenre.php?genre=14&perpage=30. If you want other genres, click on the top of the page at "Anime", then "Browse Anime", then "By Genre". Happy hunting.

Yes, I know Full Moon wo Sagashite is based on a singer- Princess Ai also is a manga that is based off of a female singer, but I don't know many more-
