Thank you

Some Catholics have left this board to go back to Catholic.

I want to give my thanks for the tolerance of the moderator and other folks here. I am a catholic but I think that by and large you are more courteous than they are. I would still like to post my catholic thoughts here if I may. I have a feeling that they will soon be back.

Thank you all. Yes, I know the great defender and that is why I hate posting over there.A lot of heat but no light comes from him. This is peaceful, I love it.

TC

the Great Defender?

you can't mean ############?!?!?!

apparently he has cast a curse on Michael's dog. some vet bills on the way, no doubt.

-- Ian (ib@vertifgo.com), February 21, 2005.

here are some of my favourites:

"I don't give a fig about your dog."

"Catholics have to be thankful he wasn't born a Turk or a Pakistani because by now Emerald would have destroyed all other religions."

"Wow! Father; get the holy water; there are demons in the house!"

"You've passed insolence, Boy. You're radioactive with human pride."

"You were MOONING a priest here. ....Nothing you ever post here again (unless you show real RESPECT) shall go un- poked and un- prodded as phony and specious while your buddy Gene is alive to poke & prod your monstruous ego. You earned your notoriety and I'll pay you tit for tat, Radium."

TC,

Not everyone has left, but some of us get too busy to look at the forum every week. Sometimes I can post 8 times a day (which I'm sure everyone is thankful for ;-) ) and sometimes don't check in for days. All part of the internet.

Actually, I always get a kick out of this one. "Put your cape on"

"It's plain to observe. I can elaborate, but I decline to serve you. Go on and observe this man's views. On Catholicism today. On the Popes. On the saints.- -I speak by no authority of mine; but the Church's. Smith himself made clear: when the Church is placed in danger, whoever has knowledge of their faith is to defend her from attack. I do it because I can. I judge the message equitably. The devil is behind it. The devil hates our Holy Father, hates us and the Catholic Church. So; he spreads doubt and dissent. He works against the Church. Thus, I determine the messenger serves the devil. --I didn't bluff. He's a heretic, and you can't dispute it seeing his works here."

And this was after an honest statement was posted!

Thank you Ian; They are some of his gems. When I posted over there he sent me to hell twice.

When I became the moderator of this board in September 2004, TC, I only had one idea in my mind:

make the forum open to all Christians and other people from different religions, Atheists, and non-practictioners of religion.

Our previous moderator, David Ortiz believed this to be a Protestant Forum. It took Rod and I quite a few months to let him see that openness is necessary sometimes. If people are now allowed th express themselves her, then where?

We spend too much time attacking each other that we never realize that our lives are so short.

I used to be a conservative Catholic until 1983.

My ideas and beliefs have changed since then little by litle.

So you and the others are welcome.

It too Ian almost a year to see that, too, TC.

Ta Elp! hopefully, you have noticed a sea change in my attitue to you and my attitude generally. i think this place really has gone from strength to strength. thanks, too, to Emily, that lil' ship in the night that may well return here some day.

Yes I have, Ian.

That is why we mature as individuals.

That is also the reason why God gave us freedom of thought, to always look for the truth.
