Hi Folks,

For you that are old enough to remember Mr. Purdie, here's a heads up... He's turning 90 this April.

There will be an open reception in his honor with light refreshments on Sunday, April 10 2005 from 2pm - 5pm at the Southeastern Railway Museum.

We are working on putting together a slide show featuring Mr Purdie and his work over the years. If you're interested in contributing, please contact John Marbury at: john.marbury@srmduluth.org or me at Randy.Pirkle@srmduluth.org

Thanks, Randy

Randy -

I can provide you with the following slides that I took of Bill Purdie. Two slides of Mr. Purdie in the engineer's seat of Canadian Pacific 4-6-4 No. 2839 at Charlottesville, Virginia on July 20, 1980. Two slides of Mr. Purdie and engine crew inspecting Savannah & Atlanta 4-6-2 No. 750 prior to a photo runby at Jennings Ordinary, Virginia on July 23, 1983. If these views would be of assistance, please contact me directly.
