items used on the railroad (plates, cups, etc)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Southern Railway : One Thread

I have recently received a set of 4 plates (dinner plates ) that belonged to my grandparents. Apparently when they moved from Spartanburg, SC to GA (My grandfather worked for the Southern RR) their belongings were packed and shipped on the train back GA. These plates were in their belongings and we have no idea as to where they came from. Does anyone know what type of dinnerware (plates, cups, saucers, etc) that they use to feed the people who travelled on the trains. All that is stamped on the plate F & B Co. Made in Bohemia. I am not sure if they have anything to do with the RR but just thought I would ask. Thanks. LOVE THIS SITE!!!!
